Village name Baxter new senior coach

season, replacing Robert Calderon who resigned at the end of last season after holding down the position for one term.

Baxter's return to the senior team follows close on the heels of another major soccer addition to the club after Bermuda senior national team goalkeeper David (Streaker) Adams announced his decision to rejoin Village after one season with BAA. Baxter last season coached the Bantams.

Sherwin Dill, sports chairman of Village, was overjoyed to have both back involved with the senior programme.

"We are quite pleased, both came up through our ranks and have been an integral part of the club for years, we are indeed looking forward to a successful season. Wendell has some big ideas for improving our programme and he is committed in having a very successful season ahead,'' said Dill.

Baxter, a former national team defender who last coached the senior team in 1990, will be assisted by Garrett (Punchy) Dill.

With Baxter moving up to the senior level Dill says that the club are now looking for a replacement for the Bantams and probably the Mini Minor Reds.

Derek Bean and Cecil Caisey will coach the Minors, Eugene Minors will return to the Mini Minor Whites and Alfred Hardtman will coach the Pee Wees.

Village intend to have an Under-19 squad this season and is in the process of finding a coach. Troy Harvey and Damon Wade are two senior players who could be involved in coaching at the lower level.
