Treadwell Walker and Albert Caisey both casualties of Sunday's match against Boulevard.

But while left-back Caisey, who was carried off experiencing severe leg cramps late in the second half, is not expected to miss any matches the season appears prematurely over for Walker as he suffered a broken left ankle and ligament damage after becoming tangled with Blazers' skipper Albert Smith.

"It was a fair tackle,'' said Walker, resting in his hospital bed following surgery to repair the injured parts. "I just got caught up with Albert and then my weight shifted and the foot twisted.'' It was initially thought to have been a bad bruise, but further examination brought about different answers, as X-rays revealed a clean break, placing Walker on the shelf for an extended period.

The operation performed yesterday involved the insertion of a metal plate and the placing of a cast.

Walker was understandably dejected, no doubt due to his still experiencing quite a bit of pain in the ankle, and he said that he was just hoping for a complete recovery.

"I'm not even thinking about football right now. I might play or I might not.'' However, Village coach Wendell (Joe) Trott will have to decide on a suitable replacement for the strapping centre-back.

Shawn Smith partnered Walker for their opening Martonmere Cup battle against Dandy Town last week, but was mysteriously absent from the line-up on Sunday.

Also paying a visit to the emergency room as a result of a soccer collision was St. David's Jerry Laws, who had been knocked unconscious after crashing into Hotels' Derek Scott in the opening minutes of their clash at Lord's.

Laws suffered a concussion but was later released.
