Warwick upset Royals
way to a 23-4 thrashing of North Village Angels in women's softball on Tuesday night at Bernard Park.
Jets' runs came off just 10 hits while Village scored their four runs off seven hits. Tina Lee and Terry Darrell both had perfect two-for-twos while Cherie Manders went two-for-two for the Angels. Cassandra Trott was the winning pitcher while Lonelle Smith was the loser.
In the night's other game, Warwick Reds beat PCC Royals 10-4 as Terry Paynter went two-for-five and Thea Furbert two-for-four for the winners.
Royals tied up the game in the fourth inning at 3-3 but could do little to stop Warwick's fifth-inning rally of four runs off three hits and the sixth-inning rally of four runs off two hits, which gave them an easy win.
Winning pitcher was Stacy Furbert while the loser was Dawnette Daniels.
Saturday and Sunday's games were rained out but the two matches on Friday saw Warwick beat Sharks 7-6 and Blue Sox beat Devils 13-0.
