Whitter and Fisher bow out
runs come to an end in the Georgia State Junior Open in Atlanta.
Both went down to higher seeds in the main draw quarter-finals of their age groups, but Whitter exacted some revenge over his conqueror Jimmy Petit in the doubles.
Whitter and partner Phillip Sousa defeated Petit and Daniel Forbes 6-3, 6-2 to book their place in the semi-finals of the 14-year-old boys' doubles.
And there was more success for Bermuda in the 12-year-old boys' doubles, as John Masters and Kyle Williams also reached the last four with a 7-6, 6-4 triumph over Jamie Cox and Ryan Ford.
In his singles tie against number three seed Petit, Whitter found his rhythm only in patches and sometimes struggled with his serving, as he lost 6-1, 1-6, 6-1.
Sasha Fisher was outmanoeuvred by the penetrating groundstrokes of her last eight opponent Kelly Nakamura of Hawaii and eventually went down 6-3, 6-0.
Both Whitter and Fisher will now play other beaten quarter-finalists in consolation matches to determine fifth place.
