Wilson hits hat-trick -- BFA Under-21 Tournament
Boulevard made history, becoming the first winners of the Under-21 Cup, with a runaway 5-2 victory over battling Southampton in the curtain-raiser at St.
David's Oval yesterday.
The young Blazers were led in their charge by Robert Wilson, who netted a gleaming second half hat-trick.
Wilson found the range in the 48th, 60th and 88th minutes, putting paid to Rangers, who had battled their opponents to a 0-0 standstill for the first half.
After Wilson netted the first, Conneto Trott made it 2-0 with a 53rd minute strike, and Wilson increased the advantage to three goals seven minutes later.
Rangers fought back, Kamen Tucker tallying in the 62nd minute, but further scores from Wilson and Jahmel Samuels reinforced the cushion.
Jamel Thompson netted a late consolation for Southampton to bring a close to the action-packed affair, one which offered positive insight as to the future of both clubs.
