Work on the National Stadium track has been completed and athletes competing in the Hour of Power meets are reminded that competition resumes on April 29.

Each of the remaining three meets will commence at 6.30 p.m. and will continue in the original format, with the Amaral's 100 metres starting things off to be followed by the Lindo 3,000 metres (6.50), Rego Furniture 400 metres (7.10), Estrella Lights 1500 metres (7.30), Images `Imagemaker' 200 metres (7.50) and Franklin Travel 800 metres (8.10).

BADMINTON BAD Friday at 5 p.m. is the deadline for entries for the Bermuda Open International Badminton tournament. Forms are available at all sports shops.

The West Indies v South Africa Test match from Bridgetown, Barbados will be shown in its entirety today starting at 11 a.m., the Bermuda Broadcasting Company announced yesterday.

The match was due to be shown after the tea interval but, because of a possible early finish, transmission will begin with the first ball.

RUGBY RUG All former Police rugby players, officials and supporters are invited to attend a meeting at the Police Recreation Club at Prospect on Friday to discuss the formation and eletion of officers of the `Faded Blue Rugby Club.' The club is being formed to support rugby in general and the Police team in particular. Interested persons can contact John Williams at 292-9868 (office) or 292-9873 (fax).

TENNIS TEN Another top seed fell yesterday as play continued in the Bermuda Lawn Tennis Association Tournament at the Tennis Stadium.

Third seed Jerome Bradshaw followed number one Sammy Maybury -- a first round casualty at the hands of Ken MacDonald -- as an upset loser, going down to sixth seed Cooleridge Place 7-6, 6-7, 6-2 in the quarterfinals of the Men's `A' bracket.

In a match that lasted nearly three hours Place and Bradshaw battled tooth and nail before the former finally wore down his opponent and was able to emerge victorious. Next up for Place will be second seed Steve Bean, who advanced to the semifinals at the expense of Karl Roberts, whom he defeated 6-1, 6-4.

Giantkiller MacDonald was made to struggle against Nick Frost, requiring three sets to advance by the score of 4-6, 6-2, 6-2. The winner of the MacDonald, Tony Readwin match will face either Brian Way or Johnny Johnson in the other semi. The Mixed Doubles pair of Steve Bean and Laverne Jones also scraped into the next round, downing Hugh Baritt and Karen Daniels 4-6, 7-6, 6-4.

Meanwhile the Men's Doubles and Ladies `A' continue to run according to form although there have been some close calls for the favoured seeds.
