match with Bermuda were scrapped last night. The idea was finally knocked on the head because not enough fans bought tickets. Last-minute efforts to charter a smaller plane failed to come off.
The plan to fly fans to Sunday's qualifying match was the brainchild of three men who formed Creative Associates.
Mr. William Madeiros, Mr. Larry Mussenden, and Mr. David Burch anticipated a surge of bookings. But only 85 people bought the tickets -- 35 short of the minimum requirement.
Mr. Madeiros stressed full refunds for tickets were available from 9 a.m.
today at Colonial Insurance.
