An away match against favourites Liverpool awaits Kyle Lightbourne's Walsall on January 4.. .if they can repeat last year's feat of knocking Burnley out of the English FA Cup.
Walsall lived to see another day in this year's competition after Lightbourne's 90th minute equaliser earned them a 1-1 draw at home to Burnley.
They now travel to Turf Moor for tonight's replay.
Last year Walsall won 3-1 away to Burnley in the FA Cup but their away form this season has been disappointing.
"It's going to be a tough game for us when we go to Burnley,'' top scorer Lightbourne acknowledged.
"We haven't been doing too well away from home. We beat them at their place last year so they feel they owe us something.'' Lightbourne's equaliser in the first match came when he followed up to score his 11th goal of the season after Kevin Wilson's penalty had been saved by the Burnley goalkeeper.
"Even though we scored in the last minute we were the better team on the day,'' Lightbourne felt.
Five of the Bermudian's goals this season have come in the FA Cup and he would dearly love to get another tonight to help keep the cup run alive. While Walsall drew 1-1 with Watford on Saturday, Burnley lost 2-1 at home to leaders Brentford.
That result might give Walsall some encouragement, but the fact that Liverpool thrashed Middlesborough 5-1 on the weekend to move into second place in the Premier League will certainly make the winners of the Burnley-Walsall clash cognizant of the task awaiting them at Anfield. Robbie Fowler led the Liverpool scoring with four goals.
"It definitely would be a good experience,'' Lightbourne admitted.
"Liverpool are one of the best supported clubs in the world, not just in England.'' Two years ago Walsall bowed out to Leeds in the FA Cup and would welcome another clash with one of the Premier League big guns.
"We got a replay out of them so anything can happen,'' said Lightbourne.
"It's just a matter of what happens on the day.'' Lightbourne's wife, Rosemarie, recently gave birth to their first child.
Daughter Kiante' Lashay was born two weeks ago.
