All-Stars wind up football season

The cricket season may be just around the corner but the Island's best footballers have some unfinished business to sort out before they can truly rest for the summer.

An All-Star clash between Premier Division and First Division select teams takes place at BAA Field tomorrow evening (6 p.m.), where bragging rights for the next few months will be at stake.

Not that, that was the main motivation for the man behind the match, St David's coach Kameron Fox.

"What with the violence getting out of hand, and the communities busting apart, I thought this would be a way for players from all over the Island to come together and people to come together, and basically strive as a country, instead of just parishes," said Fox.

"Children under 10 will get in free, anyone with an End-to-End ticket will get in half price, and the regular admission fee will be $10. The money will be going towards two charities, Rise Above Bermuda and Youth Vision.

"With the youth, to prevent them going into the violence, we have to deal with them now, so that's Youth Vision, while Rise Above deals with what's happening now."

Leroy (Curly Joe) Wilson, who led Dandy Town to this year's Premier Division title in his first season at the helm, will take charge of the Premier side alongside PHC boss Kyle Lightbourne.

Fox, whose St David's side won the First Division, will be helped in the dugout by Richard Todd and Andrew Bascome.
