Athlete Arantxa named All-American
Bermuda athlete Arantxa King has been rewarded for her impressive performances this season by being bestowed with All-American honours.
The Stanford track and field star, who has represented Bermuda at the Olympics, was one of 14 women and nine men to be named Academic All-American by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association earlier this week.
To meet the Academic All-America criteria, the Bermuda Olympian had to achieve a 3.25 Grade Point Average, as well as having earned at least national provisional marks during the indoor season or regional marks during the outdoor season.
Women's honourees: Emilie Amaro, Laurynne Chetelat, Claire Cormier Thielke, Madeline Duhon, Alicia Follmar, Jaynie Goodbody, Georgia Griffin, Arantxa King, Maria Lattanzi, Stephanie Marcy, Jordan Merback, Kate Niehaus, Madeleine O'Meara, Idara Otu.
Men's honourees: Durell Coleman, Chris Derrick, Elliott Heath, Garrett Heath, Benjamin Johnson, Justin Marpole-Bird, Chris Mocko, Amaechi Morton, Daniel Schaerer.
