Five wins on the trot sent BAA to the top of the Commercial league on Saturday as Robin Hood stumbled with a 2-2 draw against reigning champs MR Onions.

BAA started brightly against North Village and took the lead in the opening minutes when Martin Jones fired home after good work from Paul Colvin.

However BAA were dealt a blow when midfielder Adam Shaw saw red for protesting to the referee who was booking a Village player for kicking the ball away.

Despite their numerical disadvantage BAA increased their lead when Ollie Labett headed home a Pete Coleman free-kick after 25 minutes.

Village got back into the game with a goal from Jamal Smith two minutes before the break.

The second half was closely fought with Village enjoying the majority of possession but BAA looking dangerous on the break and it was BAA who added the final goal of the game when in the dying minutes Dave Gibbs raced through to a Ollie Labett through-ball to round the Village keeper and slot home to complete a 3-1 win.

Robin Hood are two points behind BAA after a 2-2 draw with MR Onions. Hood settled the quicker in the game, forcing visiting keeper Adam Hopkin into two fine saves but it was the Onions who took the lead. Stand-in striker Darragh O'Donoghue was fouled in the box and when Eoghan O'Dwyer's spot kick was well saved by Jason Simons, O'Dwyer reacted quickest to slot home the rebound.

Hood equalized through a Kenny Dill lob from outside of the box, as the teams went to the break even at 1-1.

Though the Onions enjoyed greater possession in the second half, clear cut chances were few and far between, until a Simon Gregory header restored their lead. That looked like being the winner, until a fine run and strike from distance by Hood midfielder David Outerbridge could only be palmed into his own net by Hopkin.

Lobster Pot beat Tuff Dogs 2-0 through first-half goals from Shohaib Mehran Kevin Ronaldson.

Dandy Town Roots are fifth after a comfortable 4-1 victory over Prospect/Fire. Roots squandered numerous scoring opportunities in the opening period while the second half saw both teams come storming out of the blocks with the Roots taking the lead through Darron Simons as he rounded the keeper and slot the ball home on the second attempt.

Prospect came right back and were level minutes later from a set-piece. Roots then stepped up the pressure and went ahead when Sean Smith scored on the second attempt after his spot kick was brilliantly saved by Scott Quinn in the Prospect goal.

Simons added a third before Roots substitute Shennen Gilbert rammed home from six yards after fellow substitute Milfred Waldron's cross from the right eluded everyone.

PHC thumped Key West Rangers 5-0 with Quincy Hunt grabbing four. Raiders went up early when the Key West keeper fumbled a tame ball to Hunt who minutes later made it 2-0 to put Raiders in control.

Key West were unable to penetrate a well marshaled defence by former pro Kyle Lightboure. Lightbourne found himself in goal scoring range as his free header from a corner from Sammy Swan was tipped over the bar, bringing back old memories of this deadly combination.

Minutes before the break Craig Crichlow was bundled over in the box and Hunt fired home the penalty.

After the break Sheridan (Baldy) Ming made it 4-0 with a well-struck drive from the edge of the box. Hunt grabbed his fourth goal with a rasping drive to make it 5-0.

In the B Division Group One Vasco are top after thumping St. David's 9-0 while St. George's All-Stars are just behind on goal difference after beating Valley 4-1.

Lionel Cann grabbed a second-half hat-trick after William Richardson had opened the scoring in the ninth minute for the East Enders. Sinclair Vicars got Valley's solitary effort.

Hamilton Parish Workmen's Club lie third after beating Boulevard 5-4.

Parish's Irving Burgess grabbed a hat-trick with Jude Burgess and Corey Hill also netting. Cleve Rogers got two for Boulevard, keeper Mike Pond tucked away a penalty and Warren Iris was also on target.

Somerset Extros kept their hundred percent record in B Division Group Two the easy way with a walk-over win over short-handed Wolves.

MR Onions are second after beating Devonshire Lions 3-1.

Philip Clark ran through the heart of the Onions defence to get the home side ahead against the run of play but Onions defender Richard Drennan equalised with a header before the break. In the second half Onions pressure paid off with Mick Gilliland and Dave Outrim firing home.

The game between Dockyard Falcons and Pest Control was postponed.
