Bean eventually got by Castle Harbour's Kevin Benevides on the second extra hole to earn a spot in today's semi-finals.

Meanwhile Kim Swan, who has yet to win this event, defeated Barry DeCouto three and one, Keith Smith beat veteran Eardley Jones by the same score and former champion Dwayne Pearman disposed of Mid Ocean's Stephen DeCosta two and one.

Today's semi-finals see Bean face Smith and Pearman take on Swan.
