Cann wins duel with Grant

Chad Sutherland, one of the new riders, was second behind Zahkie Iris in the 50cc class, with Iris claiming three firsts and Sutherland three seconds. Gary Cann and Anthony Grant put on a show in the 65cc class that had the crowds cheering, with Cann taking the win with three firsts and Grant seconds with three seconds. Tullio Escolastica was third, Jonte Smith fourth and new rider Zahkie McIntosh fifth.

In the 80cc class Gary Cann turned the tables on Aaron Cannonier who won the first moto.

Cann won the second and third races to take top honours while Jerome Dowling was third, though he had to fight to stay ahead of 80cc Modified rider Melone Munro who had three firsts in her class. Newcomer Ashley Simmons was fourth.

Craig Panchaud won the 125C class with two firsts and a second while Craig Ferguson had his best finish with two seconds and a third for second overall.

Treadwell Nesbitt was third.

In the 125B class, Carlston Burgess Jr won his first race after a 35-race dry spell. Burgess edged out Jamel Pitcher.

A double-header is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
