Crofton, Payne hit hat-tricks as league-leading Dogs run riot

Tuff Dogs continued their winning ways while title chasers BAA and Vasco both remained close behind during weekend action in the Corona League:

Tuff Dogs 10 Valley FC 0

Hat-tricks from Lamaul Crofton and John Payne ensured Tuff Dogs remained top of the Corona charts with a 10-0 thrashing of Valley FC.

Crofton kept pace with Vasco's Rui Furtado in the goalscoring charts heading into the break with his three goals, while Payne went one better than his tally last week. Crofton and Payne became the first team-mates to both score hat-tricks in the same game.

Kenny Bascome also helped himself to a brace with Robbie Almeida and Ian Mullins both scored.

Vasco 8 St. David's 0

The league's leading goalscorer, Rui Furtado, scored five times as Vasco kept pace with Dogs, hammering St. David's.

Accompanying Furtado's goal blitz was Ross Nottingham, who notched two goals while Rich Holden also got his name on the scoresheet.

BAA 5 MR Onions 1

Paul Colvin's double strike for BAA Wanderers was enough to see the side run out winners over MR Onions.

Within five minutes of the kick-off, it was BAA who took the lead with a great run and cross to the far post by Martin Jones that was met on the run and converted by debut centre forward Stevie Gair.

To MR Onions' credit they didn't fold and after slowly working their way back into the game they equalised when a corner was only half cleared and David Outtrim got to a rebound off the crossbar first to head past the stranded Chris Hirst in goal.

It was 1-1 at the break and the second half got underway with BAA getting quickly into their stride with the midfield duo of Ollie Labett and Peter Coleman starting to control play. It was Labbett who rose highest in the box to meet a precise Colvin corner and power a bullet header into the roof of the net for 2-1.

This lead was extended when Colvin finished off another flowing move and quality cross from the right winger Jones at the far post.

BAA made it 4-1 Colvin latched onto a free ball and curled a strike into the top corner from 25 yards. The scoring was completed in injury-time when Jones raced onto a through ball, took one touch and dispatched the ball low along the ground into the far corner.

West End United 3

Lobster Pot 2

Duncan Barclay got the winner for West End United as they saw off a spirited Lobster Pot.

Eugene Simmons and Frances Desilva scored for United, while Stephen Palmer and Pfungwa Muza got Pot's goals.

Robin Hood 4

Prison Officers 1

A Brian Fubler brace fired Robin Hood to a comfortable win over Prison Officers.

Ionut Neascu and Justin Brookes added single strikes, while TJ Thompson scored Officers lone goal.
