DeSilva double gives Canaries flying start

Cardinals A 1 Canaries A 4 Canaries proved the fitter team on the day, Lisa DeSilva putting them 2-0 ahead before half-time after some great attacking play by Maryellen Jackson.

Jackson scored Canaries' third goal as she was left unmarked at the top of the circle and Helen Dennis got their fourth in the last minutes of the game.

Cardinals did manage to get a consolation when Alex Lewis, who had an outstanding game, converted a penalty flick.

Cardinals B 1 Canaries B 1 An evenly matched game, in which both sides had their chances, saw Canaries get off the mark first when Lesley Page slotted home after the ball rebounded of the 'keeper's pad.

Cardinals upped their effort in the second half and drew level when Maria Correia made a great run to score from the edge of the circle.

Despite continued pressure, Canaries managed to shut them out to come away with a draw.

Swallows B 7 Swifts B 0 A rampant Swallows side soon made their presence felt with a goal in the fourth minute from Sandy Cram. Continuing to pile on the pressure, they scored a second shortly afterwards through Jenny Burrell.

Burrell continued her scoring streak when she added another three goals before half-time.

Nicola Wilkinson made it 6-0 and Sara Taylor completed the onslaught towards the end.

Swallows A 1 Swifts A 0 It was a different affair in the A game. Swallows held the upper hand in the first half but excellent play by Cathie Hay and Lisete Moniz in the Swifts defence kept the opposition at bay.

The breakthrough for Swallows came late in the second half, just after Moniz had to leave the field injured, when Jenny MacIntosh put the ball away after it had rebounded off the 'keeper's pads.

Swifts never gave up and continued to produce their own attacking play, Fiona Lee leading the way, unlucky not to score the equaliser as her shot on goal produced a fine save from the Swallows 'keeper.

Orioles B 2 Bluebirds B 1 Orioles dominated the first half and found themselves 2-0 ahead at the break, with goals from Susie Elton and Georgie Adlam.

Bluebirds came out stronger in the second half, following a rousing team talk, and began to have their chances at goal.

Ellen Charnley put Bluebirds on the scoresheet with a brilliant single handed goal, as she avoided the defence to put the ball past the 'keeper.

Men's League Upstarts 0 Chameleons 11 Chameleons came away with an emphatic victory over the Upstarts, who had no answer to the their attack on the day.

Steve Moreton, Mark Pettingill and John Dodds all scored hat-tricks before Chris DePutron finished off the scoring.

BCS Panthers 1 Rebels 2 Panthers took on an undermanned Rebels side and nearly pulled off a deserved win.

After a scoreless first half, Panthers were first to net when Logan Alexander was awarded a penalty flick, which was converted by Justin Freisenbruch.

This proved to be a wake-up call for Rebels and they picked up the pace of their game.

David Gutteridge pulled them level and Mike Elton Jr found the back of the net to score the winning goal.

In the remaining game Wasps lost to Police 4-1.
