Great feeling to win again

It was good to get on the scoresheet during the Revs' 4-0 win against Chivas USA last week although I thought the end result was a bit flatterring. I don't think we played well against them in the first half. But it's always good to score and now I'm looking to build on my performances moving ahead to the end of the season.

It feels great to get back to winning ways and hopefully we can pick up where we left off against Colorado Rapids (today) in Colorado. It's a very long trip to Colorado and they have always been tough opponents. Playing at that altitude is always difficult but we are prepared for them and hopefully we can get a win this time.

Looking back at last month's Digicel Cup, I must admit that I was very disappointed to see Bermuda go out the way we did. However, we have to move forward. At the moment there is nothing going on and hopefully the BFA (Bermuda Football Association) can keep the team active.

I wish Kenny (ex-national coach Kenny Thompson) would've re-applied for the vacant national coach's job. I don't think the reason for us going out of the Digicel Cup was a fault of his at all. I thought we could've had a stronger team and to be honest I think we took those teams (St.Martin, Antigua and Cayman Islands) for granted by thinking we could advance with a weaker squad.

I know Kenny had to make a personal decision but I know he still has a lot on his plate and I wish him all the best moving forward.

Whoever the BFA replace Kenny with, hopefully they will give him someone good to work with. Kyle (Lightbourne) has been there before and did a decent job with limited resources while Andrew (Bascome) has always had a good reputation as a good coach.

I was glad to see my former team, Dandy Town, start their season off on a winning note in the Martonmere Cup last weekend. Town's new coach, Meshach (Wade), has always been a good leader on the field and I'm sure his leadership qualities will spill over into his coaching. Hopefully he can get Town headed in the right direction.

Pretty soon it will be election time for the BFA and as far as I am concerned I think Larry (BFA president Larry Mussenden) has done a great job moving the country's football forward. But my opinion doesn't really matter and I just hope whoever does the voting does so for the best person for the job. The clubs are the ones who will make the decision and I just hope they make the right one.

As for the Revs' Concacaf Champions League exit, to be quite honest losing to Trinidad's Joe Public was probably the best thing for us as that competition was not a priority for us.

Obviously we never go into a game looking to lose, but we had two games that particular week and had we won (on aggregate) we would've had to continue playing right up to the play-offs (Major League Soccer) and so it was probably the best thing losing in that competition.

The MLS is our main priority and will always be. That competition had absoluetly no incentive for us and besides we have already won an international competition this year (SuperLiga).

We just don't have a squad or the players to be playing two games per week at that level and so losing (in the Concacaf Champions League) may have been a blessing in disguise.

See you at the corner flag!
