He may be special, but what was Jose thinking?

What on earth is wrong with Jose Mourinho.Telling your players to get themselves sent off doesn't seem to be the right thing for a manager to do to me, in fact, for him to order his players to get cards so that they can play in the next round is beyond me.But I guess that's why they call him the 'Special One'

What on earth is wrong with Jose Mourinho.

Telling your players to get themselves sent off doesn't seem to be the right thing for a manager to do to me, in fact, for him to order his players to get cards so that they can play in the next round is beyond me.

But I guess that's why they call him the 'Special One'

I understand from his point of view that it makes sense to make sure two of your better players, who are skating on thin ice anyway, miss a meaningless match so they are ready for the important next stage, but the way he went about it just wasn't right.

At least try and hide what you're doing, but the hands over the mouth were about as convincing as the way Xabi Alonso and Sergio Ramos went about getting themselves sent off.

Mind you, it's all built the atmosphere up quite nicely for the 'El Classico' at the Nou Camp on Monday. I doubt there will be anyone in Bermuda not watching the match between the two best teams in the game at the moment.

You want to see goals and attacking soccer and Barcelona play all the ways that make you smile as you watch. Them, on the other hand, you have Mourinho and Christiano Ronaldo who is lighting up the league with his goals, so this will be very interesting game.

I tip my hat to Barcelona, however, because of the way they play and although Mourinho does have Madrid playing very well on all fronts, it may just be the team who sprinkles a little bit of magic on the pitch that get the win.

Another side, and manager, who continue to impress me are Tottenham. To go to the Emirates and come out with a win after being 2-0 down to Arsenal was nothing short of spectacular.

Harry Redknapp has a knack about him to have his guys play the game the right way and it is paying off. Obviously the win was something many Spurs fans will remember for a long time, especially since it was more than 16 years ago that they last beat Arsenal at home.

Then to qualify for the next round of Champions League with a game to spare shows that they have the pedigree to make it in Europe. Let's just hope they don't come up short in the next round and let their league ambitions slip away as well.

Unfortunately the same can't be said for my beloved West Ham, I wish I could buy the club myself at the moment and give them a bit of umph.

We've got Wigan today and we've got to win otherwise we are going to find ourselves further and further adrift at the bottom of the Premier League.

If we could show the enthusiasm that Spurs show then maybe we can get some results, but we aren't, and right now moving off the bottom of the table just doesn't seem possible.

Maybe we could get Bermuda youngster Nahki Wells to help us out, he's doing great at the moment, and to break into an English league club is an impressive achievement.

I wish him all the best and hopefully he can make the most of the chance because it only comes once in a lifetime.

As we have always said, we have players here that are capable but they need to be in the right environment. I just hope that we can have more of our Under-19 and under-20 players going away so they can help our national team, because until we do this Bermuda will always be a small team struggling to beat the likes of Cayman.

We need to have international players now because amateurs players just don't cut it anymore, so we need to do what everyone else has been doing and getting players off the Island so they can learn to be good footballers.
