Pett hails his high-flying Dogs
Tuff Dogs midfielder Chris Pett has hailed his sides flying start to the inaugural Corona League season, with the side one of four teams still unbeaten and seemingly scoring goals at will.
In total they have scored 21 goals in their three matches and sit just behind Vasco, who have played one more game, with the two sides yet to play.
Pett admitted that the difference between the side this year from past years has been preseason preparation and also getting a few useful additions into the setup.
"We have done some recruiting and have probably one of the best sides we have ever had," said Pett. "The team is pretty fit, probably the fittest team in the league right now and we have also got a new coaching staff, as well as a team manager to look after the administration part of the team."
The influential midfielder also noted that a few of the sides in the newly formed league aren't as competitive as those that were in the now defunct Commercial League, thus seeing lopsided scores like their own.
Yet, not getting ahead of himself as the season reaches its peak, Pett is confident that no one side will have their own way in the league, with three of four teams capable of hoisting the first ever Corona League title.
One of those teams, Lobster Pot, awaits the Dogs this afternoon as the two heated rivals renew their war.
"A lot of the teams in the Corona league aren't as good as the teams we faced in the Commercial league.
