Seniors' society having season's first golf outing

Competitive seniors golf will return to Ocean View on Monday when the newly re-establised Seniors' Society League has it's first outing of the season.

The Ocean View Seniors' Society is specifically designed to encourage the club's senior members to come out and play friendly, competitive golf once a month.

Monday's tournament will be an 8.30 a.m. shotgun start, and golf will be complementary for all participants. The programme will run until December with the final round followed by a prize presentation and cocktail/dinner. The programme will take a break in August.

Any senior male or female of the age of 65 or over can call Ocean View on 295-9092 to register for the upcoming tournament.

The Jack Daniels Professional Golf Tour resumes on Monday, when the tour stops at Riddell's Bay Golf Club.

Dwayne Pearman is the most recent winner on tour, having shot a one-over par at Fairmont Southampton earlier this week.

Danny Johnson showed he still has some thing to teach the youngsters by posting a three over par 57 for second place followed another experienced player, Bobby Macronald who finished with a six over par 60.
