St. George's 229-9; –Western Stars 142
Ryan Steede hammered an undefeated 129 and then took two wickets to power home side St. George's to 87-run victory over Western Stars at Wellington Oval.
Steede, better known for his fast bowling, helped steer his team from the brink of disaster when they were floundering at 28 for the loss of six wickets and all seemingly lost for the team as far as reaching a respectable and winning total was concerned.
With the help of Christian Burgess (23), Steede was play a dominant role in the rescue effort, the pair adding 75 for the seventh wicket. and then with further help from tailender Gregg Foggo (30 not out), Steede stayed around to help the team to what later proved to be a formidable total as they passed the double century mark.
Steede, who came in at number eight, finished hitting 17 fours and five sixes.
Jaja Millett was the best bowler for Stars finishing with five for 39 off 10 overs with two maidens while Raymond Butterfield claimed two for 33 off seven overs with a maiden.
Stars were never able to make a serious run at victory, Rohan Davis top scoring on 41 while opener tready Gibbons Jr. scored 27.
Greff Foggo was the best bowler for the eastenders with three for 22 off seven overs while Steede had two for 28 off five overs and Oronde Bascome two for 33 off 8.3 overs.
Willow Cuts 154; –Leg Trappers 155-7.
Fine bowling by Jordash Rawson followed by a flourishing batting display by David Pringle carried Trappers to a three-wicket victory over Cuts at Police field.
Rawson and Pringle helped restrict Cuts batsmen with the pair combining to take eight wickets, Rawson finishing with five for 33 off 10 overs with a maiden and Pringle having three for 37 off 10 overs with three maidens.
Sixteen year-old Kavon Fubler was high bat for Cuts with 48 while Sharoy Fubler scored 32 and Bergon Spencer 20.
Trappers were able to reach their winning target in 40 overs, Pringle leading the way with 59 not out, and Rawson chipped in with 43.
Kavon Fubler took three for 24 off 10 overs and Sheroy Fubler two for 34 of 10 overs.
