produced some impressive results at the Georgia Junior Open.

Bermuda's team of under-12 and under-14 players flew to Atlanta on the weekend, with eight of them winning first-round matches on the first day.

Of those, Jovan Whitter is still alive in the main draw, having won all four of his matches in the 128-player field to advance to the quarter-finals, where he will play the number one seed, Michael Wardi, in the boys under-14 division. And Philip Sousa has won three matches to also advance to the under-14 quarters.

Eight others will play this week in the quarter-finals on the consolation side.

In girls under-12, Zoe Fisher, Sasha Fisher and Kara Fisher each won their first round matches before losing in the second round. All three then won two rounds in the consolation draw to make the quarter-finals.

Similarly, Zarah DeSilva won two girls under-14 matches before going down to the number three seed and Danielle Downey lost to the fourth seed before winning three consolation rounds. Both are in the quarter-finals of that draw.

In boys under 12, Kyle Williams won two matches before losing to the fifth seed in the final 16 and Gavin Manders won his first match before bowing to the ninth seed.

John Masters recovered from a defeat in the main draw to win two matches and advance to the consolation quarter-finals, along with Williams and Manders.

John Wardman only played in the consolation draw, losing in the second round, while Amy Roache made the second round of girls under-14.
