Triathlete Adam joins Hong Kong team
World Triathlon Championships in New Zealand.
But he won't be representing the Island -- rather Hong Kong where he's currently studying at the Li Po Chun United World College.
The 18-year-old Bermudian, who finished sixth in August's Bermuda senior sprint triathlon before heading to the Far East, has been training with the Hong Kong triathlon squad and has already represented that country in events in Taiwan and Macau.
Besides travelling with the team to the Worlds, he hopes to compete for Hong Kong in Singapore and Thailand.
However, long term, says his father Greg, Adam's goal is to compete for Bermuda at the 2000 Olympics in Australia where the triathlon will be accepted as an Olympic sport.
His best time on an Olympic course of two hours, 16 minutes was set earlier this year in Tennessee.
Bermuda aren't sending an official team to this year's World Championships in Auckland although a number of Triathlon Association members are travelling Down Under to compete individually.
