BACU president Ras Mykkal paid tribute to Derek (Briggs) Bascome, one of the founding members and most exciting riders, who was laid to rest on Saturday.

New 125 B champion Robbie Smith was denied an unbeaten season when Otis Ingham saved the best for last as he beat him to the day's honours.

Ingham won the first race with Chris Maxwell second and Justin Belboda third, with Smith having to settle for fourth after failing to recover sufficiently from two crashes.

In the second race Ingham jumped out to an early lead with Smith in hot pursuit. Smith moved to the front as Ingham was slowed by a flat to his rear wheel, his race ruined when the tyre separated from the rim.

Maxwell moved to second place and in contention for top honours as a disappointed Ingham walked back to the pit to discover that Justin Belboda had dropped out earlier, handing Ingham the third place he needed to clinch first overall.

Maurice Symonds, the newly-crowned Pee Wee 50 champion continued his winning ways claiming two wins over Gary Cann who had two seconds and Brandon DeSilva with a fourth and a third.

Lawrenzo Trott won the Pee Wee 80 class over Aaron Cannonier while Steven Panchaud stopped Chris DeSilva with two firsts as DeSilva had to settle for second on each occasion in the 60cc class. Wentworth Tucker rode uncontested in the 250cc class.

In the 80cc, Pepsi national champion Jamel Hassell chose not to ride on Sunday, paving the way for Howard Paynter, Jr. to grab top honours with two firsts. Shaki Easton (two seconds) and Craig Panchaud (two thirds) were second and third for the day.

Kemo Simons won both races in the 125 C class over Mike Burgess and Stephan Lightbourne.
