Bermuda's Under-15 national team made it two wins in a row in the ICC Under-15 Americas Regional Championship after easily dispatching Cayman Islands by six wickets at the National Sports Centre (NSC) yesterday.

Bermuda, who defeated the Bermuda Development XI on Monday by eight wickets, totally dominated the Cayman Islands.

Joshua Gilbert led the run chase with 27 unbeaten runs as Bermuda crossed the low score set for them by Cayman.

Chipping in with runs were opener Jelani Albuoy (14), Damion Collins (3), Kamau Leverock (3), and skipper Deunte Darrell (12).

Cayman Islands' bowling was led by Dale Parker (one for 21), Chris Calloo (one for 21) and Michael Outar (one for six).

"My side is hyped up at the moment and looking to win this tournament," said skipper Darrell. "It was a competitive match in regards to the batting and fielding aspects of the game, but in the end we outplayed them.

"When they had a few runs on the board without losing any wickets I told my bowlers to dig in and the wickets will come as their batsmen didn't look comfortable at the crease.

"I know my bowlers are capable of getting wickets, so it was a matter of applying pressure and not getting down on ourselves if wickets didn't come easy.

"I wouldn't call these games easy, more like mediocre. But when we get to big guns everyone is saying we will play in the U.S. and Canada, I think we are strong enough to beat them."

The Caymans Islands batted first and made a good start to the match with openers Rohan Alraraga (10) and Shane Cato (10) putting on 25 runs for the first wicket.

But when Gilbert trapped Cato lbw with the score on 25 and wicketkeeper Jelani Albuoy stumped Alraraga with only 10 runs added to the score, the wheels slowing began to come off for Cayman.

At 35 for two, Cayman fell to 39 for three after Cody McLaughlin was run out without getting off the mark, and then 49 for four when Matthew Syberan (10) was caught by Darrell.

It was then left to Bermuda's two best bowlers of the day, seamer Keishon Smith and leg spinner Tre Govia, to run through the Cayman innings with three wickets apiece.

Wilson bowled only three overs for his three wickets, conceding seven runs while Govia bowled eight overs for 12 runs and three wickets.

Cayman Islands lost their last six wickets for 18 runs, with Kashwayne McKenzie (12) their highest scorer before he fell victim to Wilson.
