BAA Wanderers 4 Vasco 3

Two teams remain unbeaten in the Corona League after league leaders Vasco crashed to a stunning 4-3 defeat at the hands of BAA Wanderers at BAA Field on Friday night.

With rain disrupting Saturday's matches, it was the Vasco loss that sent shockwaves throughout the league.

Displaying the kind of form that has seen them win five straight matches, Vasco stormed into a two-goal lead through Rick Holden and Rui Furtado.

A fine run by Paul Colvin and finish by Neal Churchill that kept BAA in the game at half-time with the score 2-1.

The second half saw the Wanderers reorganise themselves and clever wing play from Wayne Clapham and Martin Jones started to create some problems for the Vasco defence.

On 60 minutes, Jones seized on a defensive lapse to go through and slam past the 'keeper to level the scores and eight minutes later a BAA corner to the near post was followed up by the hard working Coleman who cleverly flicked into the goal to give BAA a 3-2 lead.

With 15 minutes left, Vasco were reduced to ten men after yet another cynical foul on the rampaging Churchill.

With ten minutes remaining, a Vasco corner was only half cleared and Stephan Teleman slammed an unstoppable shot from thirty yards past 'keeper Chris Hirst to equalise.

As BAA continued to pile on the pressure and with the regular ninety minutes up it was Colvin who found half a yard of space in the Vasco box and drove in the game winner to end a thrilling encounter 4-3.
