Bascome's summer skills camp moves to BAA Field

Island Soccer League (ISL) commissioner David Bascome will host his annual HSBC Pro Soccer Clinic for budding Beckhams and future Ferdinands at BAA Field in June.

The clinic, open to boys and girls aged between 4 and 14, aims to provide players the opportunity to build on their soccer skills and learn the importance of discipline, both on and off the field. It starts on June 28.

In order to accommodate as many players as possible, this year's camp will offer two weeks for the Kiddy Kickers and Pro Soccer Clinic basic group programmes.

Kiddie Kickers, a starter clinic, is designed for the youngsters aged between 4 and 5, and introduces basic skills and fun drills during daily one hour evening sessions. Parents will be required to accompany their children throughout the sessions.

The basic and advanced programmes, provide players between the ages of 6 - 14 years with the opportunity to build on their soccer skills.

Once again, The School of Excellence co-ed programme will be offered to 10 selected players between the ages of 12 -14 from the Pro Soccer Clinic.

The School of Excellence runs from July 5 - 9 and involves classroom instruction, soccer training and work experience.

Participants will be coached by Baltimore Blast assistant coach, Bascome, and seven professional players and coaches from Bermuda and the United States.

Last year's camp was held at the National Sports Centre's North Field.
