Bermuda tipped for success in squash tourney
The Junior CASA Squash Championships start today at Bermuda Squash Racquets Association's (BRSA) Devonshire courts with the hosts tipped for a successful tournament.
Although Bermuda are one of the smallest countries competing in Caribbean squash, their junior teams tasted success in last year's Junior CASA, held in the British Virgin Islands, with the girls' team finishing second and the boy's team placing third.
BRSA spokesman Roger Sherratt said he was confidant Bermuda would once again perform well at the tournament with promising Under-19 Robbie Maycock one of the players to watch.
Maycock starred for Bermuda at the Men's World Team Championship in Chennai, India, last November.
The annual tournament, sponsored by the Bank of Bermuda Foundation, runs until July 19 and will include Bahamas, Barbados, Cayman Islands, Guyana, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela.
