Bluebirds bank on Darrell

With Premier Division sides not featuring in the competition until the second round, First Division teams along with the Commercial clubs who survived the preliminary round will be looking to continue their march towards the coveted FA Cup this weekend:

Young Men Social Club v Ireland Rangers

This is undoubtedly the match of the round with both sides enjoying consistent performances early in their First Division campaigns.

Clay Darrell has been on top form, pouring in goals left, right and centre for the Bluebirds and he will be needed if his side are to advance.

Rangers, on the other hand, were expected to struggle this term with a supposed mass exodus of players leaving the club. However, with key players still in their line-up they have shown they are no rollover team and should compete well in this one.

In the end the score will be close but expect Social Club to come out of on top.

Prediction: Social Club 3-2

Tuff Dogs v St. George's Colts

St. George's will be looking to transfer their league form to the Cup when they take on Commercial side Tuff Dogs.

Tuff Dogs beat Key West in their preliminary round match and will be brimming with confidence. But it could be a different story tomorrow.

Prediction: St. George's 3-1

BAA v X-Roads

BAA should be able to come out of this battle with their names still in the hat for the next round, playing a X-Roads side who seem to have lost their way early in the season.

With both teams in the bottom three of the table, anything could happen.

But the first-ever FA Cup champions should be able to maintain their opponents' winless streak.

Prediction: BAA 2-1

Robin Hood v St. David's

A battle of league leaders takes place when these two sides lock horns at BAA Field.

Robin Hood, top of the Commercial League on goal difference, will have their hands full with St. David's, who are separated by just one goal from crosstown rivals St. George's at the top of the First Division.

Hood will have striker Des Minors back in the fold but will need to produce a better performance than the one they displayed last week against St. George's All-Stars, a game which they won 2-1.

Prediction: St. David's 3-0

Valley FC v Somerset Trojans

Look for no surprises in this match as Valley should be outgunned.

Although Somerset have lost players in the off season after suffering relegation last term, Jelani Scott's men will not entertain the thought of an upset.

Valley, to their credit, got the job done last week when they dispatched Pest Control 10-1.

But things will be a lot different tomorrow.

Prediction: Trojans 4-0

Wolves v MR Onion's A

This match could swing either way as MR Onions have worn the tag of giant-killers in years past and could claim that name again if they can pull this one off and move on.

Wolves have had an indifferent start to the season, starting with a 6-1 thrashing at the hands of Ireland Rangers and have never fully recovered.

They will need to be aware of the threat that Onions possess, or it could be a long day at the office.

Prediction: Wolves 2-1

Prospect United v Lobster Pot

This clash could have upset written all over it.

Lobster Pot had a bye in the first round and will no doubt prove a tough test for their First Division opponents who are hovering just about the bottom three in the league.

Home field advantage will have no bearing on the game and the visitors could prove too strong for the hosts and walk away with a second-round berth.

Lobster Pot: 2-1

Paget Lions v Somerset Eagles

Somerset Eagles should have an easy passage through to the second round.

With a game in hand and two points off the pace in the league, the White Hill Field club should repeat their league success over the Lions.

Prediction: Eagles 3-0
