Boulevard against PHC is too close to call

Somerset Trojans v

Devonshire Cougars

Although they produced a good performance against North Village in their last league match, Somerset Trojans will have to find some cutting edge if they are to stay in the position they are in currently.

The defeat didn't cause them any damage in the league table, but a bigger blow will be the suspension of both Adrian Burrows and Zahki Iris for the visit of the league champions at Somerset Cricket Club tomorrow.

While Trojans are in a bad run of form, having lost three consecutive league fixtures, this could be a turning point in their season as they head into the Christmas break.

Cougars will be looking to make amends for their cup woes and keep pressure on the leaders heading into the festive period.

The question still remains as to which side will show up, but night games seem to be the Big Cats' favourite time to play, so this is set up to be a highly entertaining fixture.

Prediction: Cougars 3-1

Boulevard v PHC

PHC can leapfrog Boulevard at the top of the table if they beat Boulevard at Southampton Rangers.

Blazers are still struggling with injuries and they will be looking to their youth once more as the Christmas break looms near.

For PHC, they are the surprise of the league thus far and will be looking to take a lead into the festive season.

An early goal could be crucial considering neither team has a goalkeeper worth talking about.

Prediction: 1-1

Dandy Town v

Devonshire Colts

Someone has to lose in the battle of these two resurging teams at St. John's Field.

Both are coming off 5-0 wins and will be looking to continue their climb up the table after disappointing starts to the season.

Colts have won three games this term, three more than last year and are sitting comfortably in mid-table.

Town, on the other hand, are trying to get back in the title race and with the top two playing each other, this could be a great opportunity to go from second from bottom to third in the space of four weeks.

Both sides have in-form striking options, so there could be fireworks in this one.

Prediction: Town 3-1

North Village v

Southampton Rangers

North Village are the in-form side at the moment and can't seem to stop winning and that shouldn't end this weekend at Bernard Park.

Having advanced in the Friendship Trophy last weekend and steadily climbing the league ladder, their match against Rangers should be another straight-forward win.

Village's squad has depth that will challenge any side on the Island, and even when Ralph Bean Jr. isn't scoring goals, there's still enough firepower to push them through rough spells in matches.

Rangers may not quite be over their 5-0 thumping at the hands of Dandy Town and, so, this could be a long day at the office for the men from Southampton.

A good note they can hang their hat on is the fact they have advanced to the next round of the Friendship Trophy after beating league leaders Boulevard last week.

Prediction: Village 3-0

Somerset Eagles v

Hamilton Parish

Eagles have been up against it in recent times, having seen a promising start go down the drain while losing two Somerset derbies before the new year.

Yet this could be their way to bounce back as their opponents are also having a rough time as well.

Eagles' defensive frailties have cost them in recent matches, but Parish don't offer much attacking threat at the moment, anyway.

Bottom club, Hot Peppers, have had a torrid time of things, culminating in a 5-0 drubbing at the hands of Devonshire Colts, and will be looking to gain some positives out of this year's remaining schedule.

Given the unpredictability of the two teams, this can go either way, but the difference will be defending at White Hill Field.

Prediction: 2-2
