Cougars favourites to continue title charge
PHC Zebras v
North Village Rams
Kyle Lightbourne and Shaun Goater will have to put their friendship aside for 90 minutes when their two sides clash at Bernard Park tomorrow.
The mid-table clash was expected to carry more weight than it actually does at the moment with both sides having under achieved thus far in their respective campaigns.
The Rams have been looking a side getting themselves together as of late in the league and could move one point behind Boulevard with a win and Blazers slip up.
PHC have advanced in two cup competitions in the last two weeks and will be looking to transfer that form over into the league. Wins over lowly Colts and Boulevard have boosted the defending champions confidence and this match should be an exciting one.
If Zebras can minimise their missed opportunities in front of goal and avoid too many goalkeeping mistakes, it should be a good day at the office for them.
Prediction: Zebras 2-1
Devonshire Cougars v Southampton Rangers
Cougars will be looking to put some distance between themselves and Dandy Town, with the league coming down to the wire.
Knowing that the champions of the league may enter the CONCACAF Champion League next term will surely have Devonshire Rec. buzzing with the thoughts of international competition.
Having not played in three weeks may see them rusty, but the extra time has allowed several players to shake off some niggling injuries and the squad has returned to full strength.
Rangers have hit a rich vein of form in the last three weeks, with wins over Village and Eagles, and will be looking to send shock waves through the league with three points from this match.
Albert Smith's men will be confident of getting something out of this match, but will come up short unless striker Rohaan Simons can cause problems to Cougars.
Prediction: Cougars 2-0
Devonshire Colts v
Dandy Town
Town should win this with minimal fuss, considering their opponents are winless in the league so far this year.
Being one point behind leaders Cougars and a possible spot in the CONCACAF Champions League next year, Raymond Beach and company will certainly be chomping at the bit.
They will need to be more efficient in front of goal against Colts with their last league fixture ending in a tame 0-0 draw against PHC.
Colts will surely be preparing for their do-or-die play-off at the end of the season that will determine their status for next term.
With Aljame Zuill back in the fold, they could be a different proposition but all season long we have been waiting for the side to wake from their sleep and they have declined the request.
They will do well to concede no more then two goals in this one.
Prediction: Town 3-0
Hamilton Parish v Boulevard
Lying two points behind the leaders at the top, Boulevard doesn't want any problems with Parish when they look to continue to apply pressure on those above them.
Parish don't have anything to play for, with their top-flight status guaranteed for next term.
But playing spoiler for those sides thinking of league honours could be an adventure in itself for Parish.
Yet injuries to key players could see them fall short in this contest, and with Blazers returning to full health it could be a long day for the hosts.
Prediction: Blazers 2-0
