Omar Shakir isn't surprised by his sides start to the season and is looking for PHC to continue their winning ways when they clash with North Village at Southampton Oval tomorrow.

The defender and his teammates have enjoyed a successful start to the season, making their presence felt both at the top of the league table and in Dudley Eve action.

PHC and Rams have already clashed one this season, when a Shaun Goater inspired Village battled back from 3-0 down in the Dudley Eve match to eventually grab a 3-3 draw.

This time around Shakir believes that the score won't be the same as the last match, but the intensity will remain the same considering the relationship between the two sides. Should the score be similar to that of the last match, the veteran defender hopes it is his side handing their long time foes a drubbing.

"I can't say I'm surprised by our start because we trained very hard during preseason," said Shakir. "We've had what some would call a generous draw regarding the teams we've played in the league so far, but Colts reminded us and everyone else last week that any team can beat any team on the day.

"We have to ensure we play to our ability and strengths no matter who we play. I'm happy we're off to a good start but it's not about the start it's all about how you finish. We've all heard the tale of the Rabbit and the Hare.

"As for Village, I don't think the game will be like the Cup game last week. The pitch will be different, the teams could be different and the atmosphere will definitely be different. All these variables will have an effect on the outcome.

"Cup games are usually more exciting than league encounters anyway. It's not to say it won't be entertaining but I doubt there will be as many goals. If it's another high scoring affair, this time, I hope it's because we've given them a thrashing.

"PHC and Village have a love-hate relationship. We a huge respect each other's ability but we also want to win at all cost. I love it because I know most of the players well and there's always a bit of trash talking before, during and especially after the game."

Elsewhere, Somerset Trojans will attempt to go back to the top of the summit when they face a Dandy Town side in poor form.

With Cougars winning 4-0 over Colts on Thursday night in the Devonshire derby, they took Trojans off the top unless the westerners can grab a win over Town at St. John's Field.

For Town any win right now will be welcome with the side currently winless in five matches and looking more like mid table team rather than a title contender.

Somerset Eagles will look to get back on track after their loss to Trojans last time out when they face off against Southampton Rangers at White Hill Field.

The remaining match will see Boulevard and Hamilton Parish tangle for the second time in a week at Wellington Oval.
