I'll bounce back – Russell
Hogges Striker Antwan Russell has backed himself to bounce back from his missed penalty and continue his fine form in his maiden season in the USL-D2.
Russell was bought down by Hammerheads shot stopper Daryl Sattler midway through the second half, yet a fine save kept the scores level and earned his side a share of the spoils.
Not to be down on himself, Russell said along with hard work and success comes roadblocks – something that he is prepared face.
Having already struck from the spot against Harrisburg City Islanders, the tricky forward isn't afraid to stand up and be accounted for.
"It was a good match," said Russell. "The first goal would have won the game, that's how I felt.
"We were a little unlucky not to win but it was a good showing.
"On the penalty, it was good save from the keeper, but it's tough and unlucky.
"We haven't lost at home yet, so that's a plus."
Next up for Hogges is a repeat of last night's fixture and Russell of confident of a good performance.
The Dandy Town striker is expecting big things from not only himself this term, but also the team who he said could make the Island proud.
"I expect big things from us, we have a good group of guys and as long as we keep working for each other we will be alright.
"I have had par performances thus far.
"I thought to myself at the beginning of the season that if I was to get five games under my belt I would really get the feeling of the game so now I am looking to explode now.
"Everyone makes mistakes, but it is how you rebound from that which makes you who you are."
