Richards: We will defend our title

Defending champions PHC Zebras will put their title on the line tonight when they play Dandy Town Hornets at Somerset Cricket Club for a place in the FA Cup final.

PHC hoisted the coveted trophy last term at the expense of tonight's opponents and will be looking to knock them out for the second year running.

Defender Kevin Richards is confident his team can come good in the only competition they can still win.

"We want to defend any title we have this season and the FA Cup is a very prestigious cup to both Bermuda and to PHC, so we want to go back to the finals," said Richards.

"This is something we always look forward to and want to go back to the finals.

"They will want to improve on their final berth last year, and do one better. They are an ambitious club like we are so they will be trying to get more silverware this year."

Knowing what the opposition is capable of, Richards believes his side can absorb anything thrown at them by Town's potent attack and punch back to devastating effect.

The last meeting between the two sides ended in a 0-0 draw, and the Zebras stalwart is optimistic of his side getting over this hurdle and booking a place in the final.

"Winning these two cup will be a redemption for our season, we were looking to win something.

"At PHC we expect to win some silverware each season, so even though we haven't come out on top in the league, we can still do well in the remaining cup competitions."
