Social Club pull out of Twenty/20

Bermuda Cricket Board (BCB) have received official confirmation from Young Men's Social Club that the side have withdrawn from the Twenty/20 League, following the club's inability to field teams over the two weekends.

In a letter addressed to the BCB, Social Club stated that their withdrawl was due largely to players either having work commitments, vacations or suspensions.

The letter stated: "As we feel it is a privilege to play in these competitions and enjoy the fellowship with the other teams, we also feel it is not in the best interest of the sport to have those teams expecting to play a match only not to have an opposition showing up with a full complement of players."

As a result of their withdrawal from the league, Saturday's game between Cleveland and Western Stars at Devonshire Rec. has been moved from 3 p.m. to the earlier start time of 11a.m.

All games involving Social Club are to be recorded as 'match abandoned' with no points being allocated.
