St.David's Warriors stormed into the Shield semi-finals courtesy of a lopsided win over ten-man Ireland Rangers at White Hill Field.

Warriors led 3-0 at the half with goals from Anthony Burchall (8th minute), Angelo Cannonier (28th) and Dano Outerbridge who scored just minutes before the half to put the match well beyond Rangers.

Rangers also lost the services of stalwart Wendell Anderson who required hospital treatment after colliding with an opponent in the 30th minute.

Rangers pulled one back through striker Yusaff Pitt.

But any thoughts the Dockyard club might have had of staging a late revival were cruelly dashed as Otis Minors (82nd) and sub George O'Brien jr (87th) converted in the closing minutes to cap off Warriors' dominant display.

Rangers were reduced to ten men in the 85th minute when sub Galvin Butterfield received his marching orders for denying an opponent a goalscoring opportunity.

Somerset Eagles 1

X-Roads 0

Darin Dowling's second-half strike was enough to send Somerset Eagles through to the next round of the Shield Competition.

The Eagles striker finished off a fine-flowing move 15 minutes into the second half to give his side victory over X-Roads at Lords yesterday.

Somerset could and should have won by a greater margin, but Dowling and strike partner Troy Tucker both missed gilt-edged opportunities to extend the lead.

For their part, X-Roads did little to threaten the Eagles' goal, and the closest they came was when Uthmani Talbot's scuffed shot, flew across the face of goal and the outstretched legs of team-mates Khomeni Talbot and Daniel Baker.

The game became slightly fractious towards the end, and Dowling, along with X-Roads' Kervin Moreno and Che Woolridge, were all booked in the final ten minutes

Prospect United 1

Somerset Trojans 2 (aet)

Somerset Trojans striker Adrian Burrows fired the West Enders into the next round of the Shield with an extra-time goal against Prospect at Devonshire Rec.

Burrows latched onto 'keeper Timmy Figureido's long goal kick and dispatched a bouncing ball home from inside the box midway through the second half of extra-time.

Trojans had taken the lead late in the first period with Tahj Wade finding the net but Prospect equalised with half-an- hour of normal time remaining through Jerome Laws.

BAA 1

St. George's Colts 3

St. George's Colts continued their winning ways as they pushed aside BAA at Somerset Cricket Club.

Goals from Jelani Carlington, Damon Darrell and Macai Simmons gave the newly-crowned First Division Dudley Eve champions the win, making it three victories in the space of one month at the venue.

Carlington put Colts 1-0 up in the 22nd minute, while Darrell came on as a substitute to put the match beyond doubt in the 67th minute.

Simmons made the score 3-0 six minutes later before Jermaine Simons pulled a goal back for BAA in the 79th minute.
