Trott helps Social Club seal return to top-flight
Somerset Bridge 97
Social Club 97-4
Social Club won promotion to the Premier Division following a comfortable six-wicket victory over Somerset Bridge at White Hill field yesterday.
Skipper Rodney Trott and opener Dwayne (Streaker) Adams starred in Social Club's promotion push, with Trott spearheading the bowling by taking four wickets for 15 runs in 10 overs, while Adams followed this sterling spell with a splendid knock of 55 runs, striking five fours and a six.
With Trott getting lively support from Jeffrey Tyrrell and Jaymo Durham, Bridge were up against the wall from the outset and never seemed capable of reaching a formidable total. Tyrrell finished with three wickets for 35 runs from 10 overs while Durham had two for 23 from five overs.
Donnie Charles topped the Bridge batting with a knock of 26 while opener Kacey Smith followed on 18, Herbie Dillas 15 and Dwayne Simons 10.
Bridge succumbed in 30.4 overs.
Social required a mere 16.2 overs to reach their winning target with opener Adams laying the foundation with his half century while fellow opener Damien Rabain added 20, the pair putting on 69 runs. Noel Woods was the best bowler for Bridge with his devastating medium pace deliveries earning him two wickets for 14 runs from three overs.
