Boulevard v St. David’s

There’s certainly no rest for the wary with St. David’s on the receiving end of a hectic schedule having to play their fourth game in ten days at BAA Field.

The East Enders will certainly need to gain some much-needed momentum going into the Christmas break having been on the receiving end of some pretty hefty defeats in recent weeks.

Meanwhile, Boulevard have a clear agenda as they look to bounce back from their disappointing Friendship loss to PHC.

Skipper Angelo Simmons could do with getting back in the goals with the Bermuda Hogges man going through a quiet spell

at the moment. Fortnately for Blazers Temiko (Apples) Wilson is in good form in front of goal.

Prediction: Boulevard 3-0

North Village v PHC

Game of the week and quite possibly the game of the season.

Both powerhouses are level on points at the top if the table although PHC have a game in hand with the winner heading into the winter break as the Premier Division leaders.

It’s almost too close to call with Shaun Goater’s Village and Kyle Lightbourne’s PHC both in good form and scoring plenty of goals. In any close game it’s often the ‘x-factors’ that can prove the difference and Village probably have more of those type of players in the likes of Tyrell Burgess, Jason Lee and Keishen Bean.

With the game at Bernard Park and PHC having played on Wednesday night, Village have to start as favourites in this mouth-watering clash.

Prediction: Village 3-2

Devonshire Cougars v

Devonshire Colts

Neither of the Devonshire teams is in the best of form at the moment and both will view this match at Devonshire Rec. as a way kickstart their seasons.

Cougars, who are usually on the title trail by now are a long way off the pace already, while their bitter rivals Colts are languishing at the bottom of the table. Stuck in mid-table mediocrity, Cougars are in desperate need of a confidence-boosting win.

Conversely, Colts will need to start taking baby steps as they strive to claw their way from the dreaded danger zone.

If they can take anything from this match it will be a huge bonus for Keishon Smith’s side.

Prediction: Cougars 4-1

Southampton Rangers –v Dandy Town

For defending champions Dandy Town this is a game they can ill-afford to lose if they are to keep in touch with the top of the pack.

One bright point for the Hornets is that the two tops teams, Village and PHC, are facing off against each other and therefore points could well be dropped.

Rangers have had some good results in their past few games and will look to continue their current form and maybe pull off a shock win at the Southampton Oval. However, I expect goalkeeper Jason Smith to be busy.

Prediction: Town 3-1

Somerset Eagles v

St. George’s

Somerset Eagles are back to winning ways after a slow start to the season and will be looking to pick up where they left off against Devonshire Colts on Wednesday night when –St. George’s visit White Hill Field.

If Eagles win and a few results go their way, Marlon Rojas’ men could see themselves get out of the bottom two and start an upward climb with games in hand over their rivals.

In St.George’s they will come up against a team built on determination and pride, so Eagles will need to be at their best to claim the three points.

Colts will look to Jahron Dickinson and Clay Darrell to spearhead their attack as they endeavour to get a victory on the road.

Prediction: Colts 3-2
