Volleyball coach earns US level two certificate
Men's national volleyball team coach Bill Bucci has become a certified level two coach after recently completing a USA volleyball course.
Bucci got chance to take the course after the Island Games Association (IGA) provided a grant.
Bermuda Volleyball Association sent Bucci to the level one course in 2008, and he then travelled to the US Olympic Training Centre in Colorado Springs to take the second level.
Bucci has been on the staff for the men's national team since its inception in 2002 and he is also one of the coaches for the Warwick Academy seniors boys' teams.
The BVA are working towards developing both a women's and men's youth national team programme.
The lever two certification lasted 22 hours over two days and was instructed by an experienced team of USAV coaches including John Kessel and Diane Cole.
The course covered topics such as teaching skills, motor skill learning theory, coaching principles, and sports psychology.
The NatWest Island Games Committee offers financial support to islands such ase Bermuda who want to increase and improve their sporting knowledge.
