Jordan DeShields took gold as the Victor Flood Badminton Tournament began at BAA this week.DeShields beat Aidan Thorne 21-13, 21-10 to take gold in the boys’ event, with Adam Smith, who DeShields beat earlier in the round, finishing third.MyKaelah Smith won the girls’ gold with a 15-9, 15-13 win over Jamila Eve-Cann, while tournament newcomer Fae Sapsford battled hard for her bronze.In the doubles, Aidan Thorne and DeShields teamed up to beat Adam Smith and Joshua Thorne for first place, and MyKaelah Smith and Jamila Eve-Cann did likewise to win the women’s doubles.The tournament continues today with the seniors events taking place at BAA.
