Pearson tastes success with Radcliffe

Bermuda rower Michelle Pearson helped the Harvard University’s women’s team, Radcliffe, to a second-place finish in the Championship 8 at the Head of Charles Regatta in Boston last weekend. They beat all other Ivy League schools, including last year’s NCAA champions Princeton, and the second and third place finishers Brown and Stanford, losing only to the University of Virginia (UVA) by eight seconds. An estimated 300,000 spectators turned out along the banks of the Charles for the two-day event, which is the largest rowing regatta in the world.Last year saw Pearson win a gold medal at the World Junior Rowing Championships with the US women’s eight team, and a silver and bronze at the US Rowing Club National Championships in New Jersey.
