Greens, Warriors, Bluebirds all fall at the first hurdle

Netts Greens, Colts Warriors and Young Men’s Social Club Jr Bluebirds all fell out of contention for divisional honours at the weekend’s rain-hit Harold (Doc) Dowling Tournament at Bernard Park.Netts Greens’ hopes of glory in the Under-12 division went up in smoke after they suffered losses to Young Men’s Social Club Baby Bluebirds (3-1) and Cougars Cubs (5-2).Colts Warriors also experienced that sinking feeling as they lost to Lady Rams (2-1) and YMSC Baby Bluebirds (10-3).Netts Greens and Colts Warriors will now be playing for pride when the double elimination tournament resumes on November 12 at Bernard Park.Still in contention for the Under-12 title are Cougars Cubs, YMSC Baby Bluebirds, Lady Rams and Netts Whites.Lady Rams and Netts Whites have yet to be beaten.Out of the running in the Under-16 division are Young Men’s Social Club Jr Bluebirds who suffered two defeats at the hands of IAS Shooters (6-1) and Signworx (6-5) that poured cold water on their title aspirations.Having lost to Lady Rams (4-3) in a close encounter, Signworx cannot afford any further slip-ups while IAS Shooters and Lady Rams are unbeaten thus far.In the Under-14 division, Lady Rams’ title hopes were dashed after they lost to Nu-Art Superstarz (4-1) and Data Tech (6-4).
