Young Men’s Social Club Lady Bluebirds handed defending Senior Winter League champs Data Tech Netts their first league loss of the season at Bernard Park at the weekend.Led by Danielle Raynor’s game-high 23 points, Lady Bluebirds enhanced their own title aspirations by prevailing 36-30 against previously unbeaten Data Tech Netts.Raynor, the daughter of late cricket legend Sheridan Raynor, was ably assisted by Ebonie Burgess who added 11 points while Arkeita Fubler and Denise Perinchief scored 15 points apiece in a losing cause for Data Tech Netts.Lady Bluebirds are now the sole remaining unbeaten team in the league with a perfect 5-0 record.Elsewhere, league leaders New Life blasted Devonshire Colts Warriors 76-20 in a lopsided affair.Seasoned campaigner Debbie DeShields exploded for 56 points to lead the New Life scoring while Wenda Roberts added 15.Stacey O’Brien led Warriors’ scoring with 17 points respectively.Mid table Smooth and Easy Tigers chalked up their third win of the season after outscoring Warwick Pink Panthers 48-18.Donnisha Gardner (28) and Jahtuere Trott (20) accounted for all of Tigers’ scoring while Darrika Woodley-Simons led Panthers’ scoring with 12 points.Saturday’s remaining Senior Winter League match up saw Signworx Netts thump winless North Village Lady Rams II 66-15.Diara Benjamin (32) and Chelzea Somner (10) led Signworx scoring while Zaria Amory replied with ten points for Lady Rams II who slumped to their seventh straight loss of the season.In Junior Winter League action, Under 16 league leaders Signworx Netts kept their unblemished record intact after edging North Village Lady Rams 23-22 in a close affair.Danielle Onyia led Signworx scoring with 20 points while Chenzira Lightbourne poured in 19 points in a losing cause for Lady Rams.Young Men’s Social Club Junior Bluebirds won by default over IAS Shooters to pick up their first points of the campaign.Under 14 league leaders Young Men’s Social Club Bluebird Young’ uns dropped their first points of the season when they were held to a 17-17 tie against bottom team Nu-Art Superstarz.Shondae Woods-Bell had a game-high ten points for Superstarz while Satashie Rogers replied with nine points for Bluebird Young’ uns who remain unbeaten this season.The remaining Under 14 contest saw Data Tech Netts beat North Village Lady Rams 19-13 with Donnaruri Robinson leading the charge with 13 points.Jordyn Morris led the Lady Rams scoring with six points.In the Under 12 Division, league leaders Netts Whites crushed Cougars Cubs 39-0, Young Men’s Social Club Baby Bluebirds edged winless Devonshire Colts Warriors 16-13 while North Village Lady Rams prevailed 13-7 against Netts Greens.Zekiah Lewis led Baby Bluebirds scoring with nine points while Zahria Furbert replied with a game-high ten points in a losing cause for Colts Warriors.Brianna Swainson poured in seven points to lead Lady Rams to victory over Netts Greens in a low-scoring affair.The stats provided for the match involving Netts Whites and Cougars Cubs were incomplete.
