Test your Olympic knowledge
A special quiz competition will he held to mark the annual worldwide Olympic Day at the Fairmont Princess Hotel next month.Organised by the Bermuda Olympic Association (BOA), the Olympic Quiz will focus on the history of the Games and the Island’s participation over the last 75 years.It will one of a slew of activities put on by the BOA as part of Olympic Week, which sees the majority of the 205 national Olympic Committees on the five continents celebrate the Summer Games’ values.Former director of Youth, Sport and Recreation, Anthony Roberts, will oversee the project. Roberts has plenty of experience organising quizes, having spearheaded the Schools’ Quiz and more recently, the Christian Faith Quiz.Teams of five can enter the quiz, which will feature a four-team final on Saturday, June 23, and two semi-final dates on Tuesday, June 19 and Thursday, June 21.Should there be an overwhelming response, other preliminary events will be staged so as to reduce the numbers of teams to eight for the semi-finals.A booklet of 240 questions are available for downloading on the BOA website (Olympics.bm).Teams must be submitted to the BOA office by next Thursday before 5pm. Alternatively, the information may be submitted on line to Olympics@ibl.bm by the same deadline.The winners will receive five travel vouchers for a round trip to London.
