Saltus takes over at Rangers

Gerri Saltus was elected as the new president of Southampton Rangers during the club’s annual general meeting earlier this week.Saltus ran unopposed for the top post in which he will serve for the next two years.Prior to being elected as president Saltus, who has been involved in coaching football at the club for a number of years, served as interim president along with club director Ryan Belboda. He was appointed by the club’s Board of Directors after Randy Raynor was forced to resign after receiving a vote of no confidence. It is understood Raynor was asked to leave after being blamed for the club’s poor financial standing and heavily criticised for his brand of leadership. His decision to back Rangers’ controversial boycott of the 2011 Western Counties competition also ruffled feathers at the South Shore club.Saltus is the sole surviving member of Raynor’s administration.Meanwhile, elected as Rangers’ new vice -president was cricketer Quinton Sherlock Jr.Lisa Morris was elected as secretary while Nolette Tucker, wife of club cricketer Janeiro Tucker, will serve as assistant secretary.Elizabeth Pedro is the club’s new treasurer.Michael Brangman, Kennedy Wainwright and Wyonnie Tucker were elected to the club’s Board of Directors while Bill Scott and Belboda were both returned.
