Netts cruise to victory over Tigers
League leaders Datatech Netts cruised to a comfortable win against SS Tigers to keep on course for First Division glory.Netts beat Tigers 52-23 at Bernard Park at the weekend with Gina Benjamin pouring in a game high 36 points and teammate Kimale Evans chipping in with 11.Jahkenya Trott replied with 18 for Tigers.The remaining First Division match saw defending league champs Lady Bluebirds squeak past Signworx Netts 35-34 in a close encounter that could’ve gone either way.Ebonie Burgess led Lady Bluebirds scoring with 28 points while Danielle Onyia scored a game high 29 points in a losing cause for Netts.There was also two Second Division matches held which saw Blazzin Bluebirds edge Robin Hood 39-36 and Lady Rams romp to a convincing 47-23 win against Lady Rams Too.Fredricka Samuels led Blazzin Bluebirds to victory with 28 points while teammate Akelah Hendrickson added 11. Katie Brown (19) and Shannon Etchells (14) combined for 33 points in a losing cause for Robin Hood.Vernicka Symonds had a game high 24 points for Lady Rams and was ably suported by Nikita Trott who added 22. Lynnique Castle replied with 12 points for Lady Rams Too while teammate Kandia Caisey added 11 respectively.In Under-15 action, Demique Daniels scored 17 points and teammate Satashie Rogers 13 to guide Bluebird Young’uns to an emphatic 31-6 win over Netts Green.The remaining Under 15 match saw Nu-Art Superstarz beat Lady Rams 23-13. Shondae Woods Bell was the top scorer for Superstarz with 17 points while Brianna Swainson replied with seven points for Lady Rams.Under-12 matches saw Lady Rams get past Netts Black, Netts White defeated Cougar Cubs while Devonshire Cubs got the better of Baby Bluebirds.
