Hi5 Golf move step closer to title

Hi5 Golf take a five-stroke lead into today’s final round of the 60th Bermuda Goodwill Pro-Am Tournament, after shooting a six-under-par 65 at Port Royal despite yesterday’s rainy and windy conditions.

Hi5 Golf, who led Belfair Plantation by three strokes at the halfway stage, extended their overall lead as Belfair Plantation slipped down the field after a one-under 70 at Port Royal.

Riverdale Country Club were the big movers, shooting an eight-under 62 at Tucker’s Point to move into a tie for second with National Golf Club of Canada B

Hi5 Golf have a three-round score of 191 going into today’s final round at Riddell’s Bay, while Riverside and National Golf Club, both on 196, close out the tournament at Port Royal.

Local team Mid Ocean Club, moved into fourth after a seven-under 63 at Tucker’s Point for a three-round score of 198, one ahead of Lakes Golf and Country Club, Belfair Plantation and Rhode Island Country Club.

Hi5 Golf are also leading the senior team division by a comfortable eight strokes over Lakes and Belfair Plantation. Woodland Golf Club A and Ocean View Golf Club are a further two strokes back on 201.

Four strokes separate the top five teams in the junior division where Riverside and National B are tied on 196, followed on 198 by Mid Ocean Club and Rhode Island on 199.

Another local club, Port Royal, are still in contention on 200 after their four-under 66 at Tucker’s Point yesterday. They close out the tournament on their home course today.

Chris Moody, of Riverside, was able to handle yesterday’s tough weather conditions and has taken the lead in the professional division after three rounds with 60 points.

Port Royal’s Dwayne Pearman is three points behind in second place, while Dennis Hendershott of Hi5 Golf dropped into third place on 56 points. A close finish is expected in the women’s professional division, where two points separate the top three.

Jen Jaszek, from Hi5 Golf, has taken the lead after compiling 16 points at Riddell’s Bay yesterday, while Andree Lalierre, of London Hunt Club, is one point back and Meg Chapman, from Georgian Bay, has 38 points going into today’s final round.

Georgian Bay lead the women’s division after a gross score of 72 at Riddell’s Bay, which keeps them three shots clear of local team Riddell’s Bay, who also shot a 72 on their home course. Mid Ocean are third after shooting a 79 yesterday.

After today’s final round the prize presentation will take place at the Reefs Hotel starting at 6pm.
