Mixed results for Bermuda
Bermuda’s have had mixed fortunes at the Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association Women’s Beach Volleyball Zonal Tournament in Antigua.
Lisa LeBlanc, Rebecca White, Stacey Dorush and Victoria Stevenson, lost to Dominica 2-0 in Friday’s opening matches, and then beat British Virgin Islands by the same score on Saturday.
In the first match against Dominica, Dorush and Stevenson lost 21-10, 21-13 to Catherine Celaire-Francis and Anna-Maria Xavier.
LeBlanc and White gave Bermuda hope in their match against Zahidu Henry and Marcia Renault-Gustave, taking the first set 22-20, but they then lost the next two sets 21-17, 15-10 as Bermuda fell into the losers’ bracket.
On Saturday, Bermuda dominated against BVI, with LeBlanc and White beating Tyalia Nibbs and Amadona Creese 21-18, 21-7 in the first match, with Dorush and Stevenson then easing to victory 21-11, 21-7 over Stacey Lauren Welch and Tanisha Georges.
