Young achievers: The top primary, middle and senior school student athletes have been recognised and rewarded at the 30th Denton Hurdle Memorial Awards, held at Warwick Academy last night. Maya Palacio, of CedarBridge Academy, and Liam Evans, of Saltus Grammar School, were the senior schools female and male winners. Palacio has represented CedarBridge at a number of sports, including basketball, volleyball and track and field, and plays hockey for the Longtails and the senior national team. Evans plays football for Robin Hood and the Under-18 national team, and represents Saltus in basketball, volleyball, tennis, cricket and cross country.(Photo by Blaire Simmons)
