Kiwon Waldron continued his good run of form during weekend harness racing at the Bermuda Equestrian Centre. The talented driver grabbed the spotlight after achieving five heat victories on three different ponies.

Waldron won both heats 1:10/1 & slower division with War Machine and matched the feat in the faster 1:06/1-1:07/1 division with Skyway Majestic. His remaining heat win was achieved with Double Time also in the 1:06/1-1:07/1 category.

Kirista Rabain won two heats in the 1:05-1:06 division with Reel Patrol, Damian Tucker in the 1:08/2-1:10 division with Brona’s Girl and Andrea Westerfield in the 1:07/2- 1:08/2 division with Park Ranger after rival Inwood’s Progress, with Candyce Martins in the bike, scratched.

Nick DeCosta had a heat win with Simsfield Hardtimes in the Best Three 4 & 5 years division and another with Brona’s Mike in the Best Three Aged division.

Tyler Lopes was the remaining driver with two victories; one with IC’s Overextended in the Best Three 4 & 5 years division and the other with Cherokee’s Ironman in the Best Three Aged category.

DeCosta and Lopes posted the day’s fastest time of 1:04/1 with Brona’s Mike and Cherokee’s Ironman.

DeCosta also posted the second fastest time 1:04/3 with Simsfield Hardtimes and Lopes the third fastest of 1:04/4 with Cherokee’s Ironman.

Sunday was the third and final qualifier for the Best Three Series.

Traditionally, the top four ponies from each division go through to the final.

However, as there were only four ponies registered in the Best Three 4 & 5 years and Aged divisions none of the ponies were eliminated and will now battle for honours when the final dash is held at the Vesey Street racetrack on January 22.
