Caesar secures a trio of wins

A local contingent of bodybuilding and fitness athletes made a big impression at the National Physique Committee Florida Grand Prix in West Palm Beach last weekend.

The 12-strong group produced 12 podium finishes, including five overall titles, competing at the Keiser University.

All of the athletes, who train out of the Ultimate Fitness Gym and Fit For Life Gym, some of whom were making their debut at this level of competition, placed in the top ten in their respective classes with seven earning podium places.

Ross Caesar secured the men’s masters over-40 and overall masters titles in bodybuilding, as well as masters over-40 classic physique titles. The multiple “Mr Bermuda” was also third in the light heavyweight bodybuilding division.

Paul Simmons won the men’s over-50 masters title in both the bodybuilding and classic physique events and was third in the over-50 masters physique.

Also thriving in the senior category was former PHC Zebras footballer Dave Wolffe, who finished third in the masters over-40 men’s physique.

Sunder Singh was second in the masters over-35 in the men’s physique, Shaqir Richards third in the classic physique open class, Ryan Hopkins, third in the classic physique C class and Stefon Caesar — son of Ultimate Fitness Gym trainer Ross — third in the novice physique division.

Shannon Douglas, Joy Eve, Liza Kolesnik, Ashley DaCosta and Sheldon Effs were the remaining members of the local contingent.
